Ok, so we saw a Facebook post saying there were two lost chickens in with a bunch of condos. Since we are somewhat experienced with dealing with chickens and have a lot, we figured we needed to do something. One of them was easy to pick up but the other was in a panic, took 15mins to grab it. Trying to see if they have an owner that can claim them but until then we are going to take care of them. The "white" one looks pretty beat up, it has a wound on its neck and rear, I'd assume it didn't have enough room and was getting bullied. How do i treat? Can't get a good picture of the wounds, since the bird is pretty scared. Giving them both plenty of food and vitamin water, and keeping them in the garage to keep them away from the other birds. They don't seem to be sick, but one might have lice; i've given them sand with DE for them to dust in. Some help with breed / sex would also be appreciated!

I don't think they have come from a good home, they seem to have lost a lot of feathers from what i can assume is from a lack of space and too many birds. Our current theory is some kids stole them and put them in someone's yard as a 4th of july prank, or they got out and ran off due to the fireworks (not sure how they got where they were if thats the case). As much as I would love to get them back to their home, if no one claims them i'm planning on keeping them so we can let them have more space and live with a good flock (hopefully). Might also need some advice on how to introduce them...
We know the black / brown one is a pullet, since she laid an egg in my sisters lap as she was holding her, not sure about the brown and white one. It doesn't have pointed neck feathers, saddle feathers, nor are its wings / tail feathers rooster like.

I generally wash wounds and pat dry with a paper towel, then spray it with blu kote.

Keep them quarantined for 2 weeks or more. Then do look-dont-touch for another two weeks.

You're such a kind person for taking them in - good luck!
Got it, would it be a bad idea to clean it with like hydrogen peroxide? and what is "look don't touch"? Thanks!

Hydorgen peroxide would be fine - and gel neosporin if you don't have blu kote. Don't bandage it unless it's on the leg or something easy. Don't bandage the neck.

They need to be seen and smelled for a full two weeks by the flock without access (mesh wire divider) so that they can be incorporated safely. If you drop them in after quarantine then the flock may seriously injure or kill them. They have to get to know them.

Gotcha, thanks for the info! I've been lucky to never had to deal with such an injury, hence my uncertainty. Haven't had a lot of luck when it comes to integrating, but im hoping we can get these two in!

One of them definitely looks like a barred Rock Cross and the other one kind of reminds me of an Easter egger or some kind of Americana cross, how are your lady's?
