I got two silkies from a friend, 3 weeks ago after a normal day I put all my chickens up for the night next morning I find one dead on the nest can't find a reason. So he gave me a second one I put her in with my silkies she did great for a week I go out this morning she's dead on the nest . I'm worried for my other silkies anyone have any ideas thanks ...

Maybe the silkies are broody, sometimes when hens are broody then they die because of starvation/weakness. Maybe there was a egg problem. But that's weird it shouldn't happen so fast.

My main concern is illness. Even if you’re getting chickens off a friend, you should still practise biosecurity and quarantine them for a few weeks. They could have a disease that’s resurfacing with the stress of the move or your chickens could have a disease that they’ve grown an immunity to but still carry. Don’t get anymore chickens and keep any eye on your chickens for disease, mainly respiratory diseases, they may have runny noses, gaping beak, bubbly eyes, hunched up and rattly breathing. I would also deworm, delouse and de-mite incase.

Your chickens have already been exposed to the possibly sick chickens so I would try and get them tested to either rule that out or deal with a diagnosis.
