Four week old chicks- starter or grower?

Im currently feeding my chicks starter and they are 4 weeks old, bag is almost empty..shoubuy another bag of starter or switch them to grower??
Also, ive never thought ofit, butwhen switching food should u ween them off one and onto the other like you would dog food?

When feeding my chicks I kept them on starter for 10 weeks until I switched them to grower, they will begin laying around 20-25 weeks so it would even be possible to switch them to layer if you are keeping mostly pullets.

Can my rooster eat layer?? Ive never thought about that?! Ooops
I mean i have been for a few months now

No, roosters should not eat layer pellets. The calcium content is too high. It can cause long term damage to his kidneys.
