Four week old what is it

Black chick what is it and maybe gender help too.
There is no white or brown feathers and feathers are black with no shine of color and legs are black and yellow toes it is also very heavy

No for sure jersey giant you said it has yellow toes while black australorp have white

To young to say for sure on gender, but I'm leaning towards cockerel. Where did you get it? It maybe an Australorp but if it starts growing in some copper feathering around its chest/neck area it is probably a Black sex-link.

From my daughter's school it was the only black chick the eggs were from Illinois dupage 4h program

Not an Australorp, doesn't look like a black sex link. Is it supposed to be a pure bred or just mixed breed?

Not even sure the other chicks it hatched with were white leghorns and brown ones his chick 15 oz
