We went last year for the first time and had fun. There is a youth show and an adult show. Showmanship for the youth. Auction and sale coops.

We had a great time last year. We stayed at the water park hotel...actually had to drag the kids away from the water to go and show their birds!

On the website is all the information. The deadline to register for the show is September 29, 2008. Cost is $3.00 per bird entered.

Hope to see some of you there!

Sounds kind of like my plan

I hadn't planned on much more than that but Jacob is interested in doing showmanship. He's got the babies and a 4 month old Serama ... not sure if he's gonna do it or not. He did showmanship with his market cornish at the fair for 4-H and did well. Plus he won 1st place for turkey showmanship. Just not sure about the birds we have now.

I'll be checking out Fowl Fest this year again...I enjoyed it last year. It's a good sized show.

What kind of variety is there in birds offered for sale? Are the prices usually reasonable? Is this a show that I can see in a couple hours, or should I plan for a whole day?

Frankenmouth is only a little ways North of me but my weekends are pretty busy. I think my son might enjoy the event too.

The show is in a big pavillion. There is a youth show section and an adult section. The sale coops are at the other end of the enterance. Last year there were several rows of poultry for sale. From standards to bantams to waterfowl.

you could take a short or long time at the show. If you are looking to buy, come early Saturday morning. The sale birds go quick.
