A few days ago I notices some black spots on my rooster's combs, I took pics and posted on here and a few people said they thought it looked like "dry fowl pox". I did some internet research and read some old forums from BYC, and the most popular thing i seen was to leave it alone. It usually resolves itself and causes no lasting problems. Most people said don't even clean it because it is so easy to spread from chicken to chicken and one part of their body to another. Also that it is caused by a mosquito bite, and once a chicken gets over it they have an immunity and won't get again. So I have been monitoring the flock closely. It was originally only on my 3 roo's combs. Then I noticed a few black specks on some pullet's combs. This evening when i checked them, on of the pullets appear to have it on one of her nostrils! The nostril is black, and appears to be clogged up, but I can't be sure. Is there ANYTHING I can do? She is acting normally, no labored breathing or anything. Is there anything at all i can do to try to get rid of it faster? Or does it have to just make its way through the flock, and I can just hope it doesnt get on anyone elses nostrils or eyes? And advice is appreciated!

Probably with your online research you read where they can also. get wet fowl pox which can be much more serious, even fatal. There are many threads here on BYC to read about it.
