I have a buff cochin, Angel, that got attacked by a fox today. I ran out and scared it off and it dropped her but left a big wound on her back. It's been several hours now and she is not sounding too great. She looks very alert and is walking around but has a raspy sound. The wounds is the size of a quarter and is filled w/ watery blood. I don't know how deep it penetrated. It's about between her wings. Could the raspy sound be blood in her lungs. What should I do ...should I cull her or attempt to clean the wound and go get antibiotics. I don't want her to be suffering. I have her separated in a crate now w/food and water. The fox must have tried to get my Pekin also because she is limping w/a very small puncture wound on her leg. What should I do for that...antibiotic? Appreciate any treatment advice!
