Fox attack

[Cochins rule]

Yesterday my cochin rooster was attacked by a fox. He doesn't have open wounds but his neck is weak and he has trouble breathing. Underside of his neck has a soft swelling/bruising

I'm sorry about your rooster. Does he seem most comfortable in that position? Hard to know whether you should try to move him to a kennel or crate since he's got swelling/bruising of the neck and is having trouble breathing.

Does he breath better if his neck is lifted?

Tell us about the swelling a bit more - does it feel like air under the skin or just swelling from (speculation) being caught by the neck?
