Two of my juvenile ducks were attacked yesterday morning. My neighbor saw it and was able to save them but both have terrible wounds. We cleaned them up, used betadine, Honey silver and they are now quarantined in a dog crate in my house. The Pekin seems strong, and miserable caged in. The rouen definitely seems weak and stands funny, not like a leg injury but possible neck injury?

Please, any suggestions. This is my first flock. I'd like to let Daphne (the Pekin) out a little for exercise and to boost moral but don't want to introduce new bacteria. Also any tips on "wrapping" the wounds??

Thanks so much ❤️‍🩹

I know I'm not @Eggessive, but until she gets here ... Please post pictures of the wounds. Treat both birds for shock by giving them sugar water. 1 tsp sugar plus a pinch of soda and a pinch of salt to 1 c water. Do not cover the wounds. What you've done so far is good. Keep the wounds moist with honey or triple antibiotic ointment (without pain reliever) and don't let it dry out. Can you keep the ducks where they can see their mates?

Pictures of wounds might be helpful. Who attacked them? Are the others safe? I would try continuing the wound care and seeing if they both survive. If one or both seem to be suffering at any point or not getting better, then culling might be best. I know nothing of ducks, just chickens, but I usually try to help them survive if possible.
