hey there. unfortunately a fox got to one of girls yesterday. My wonderful hubby did sit in the awful heat, waiting for her to come back, to take care of her. He got her, but I am wondering do they travel in packs? Could this be it, or does she have buddies? thanks!

Red fox usually hunt singly although during summer months a kit will sometimes tag along with mom or dad as the adult makes rounds, If more than on present consistently, then den sight may be close to you which can mean multiple largely incompetent kits being evident. This late in season the kits should have / be busted up and largely fending for themselves.

normally they are by themselves, unless there are babies. Most likely it will come back

That one won't come back.
