We have atleast one fox decimating our flock. Always takes the biggest birds or the hens with chicks. How do I lure it so I can do away with it?

Huddle your chickens together in a sheltered spot or even put them all in their hen house. then when the fox trys to enter the hen house to kill a chook, drop a cage on it ( a box would be good ) and trap. The do what you have to do.

I cant gurantee you it would work, but you might as well give it a try

Foxes are not just night hunters.

When, where and how are fox taking birds?
What is your location and what are your coop and run like?

Need more info for specific solution....

.....or you can do an advanced search>titles only> fox and start reading, lots of different scenarios and solutions.

Odds are your fox has been very consistent with respect to time is visits, whether it be day or night. Confining birds will be a good first step. They will be bait. Look into to control methods as aart indicated. Guns are fun but most practical method will likely prove to be use of a live-trap. You may have to set aside a bird specifically as bait but that need not involve real risk for bird so used.
