Freaking cat is stuck in a tree~

I have an inside cat, she is always trying to get outside, well she did it today. And went high up in an oak tree. She has been crying for 3 hours! I put a really tall ladder up there came within 10ft, she wouldn't come, and I got hives from whatever is in the stinking tree

so what do i do now? Any auggestions?

I'd try this:

Open a can of her favorite catfood, wave the can at her while on the ladder, then climb down and put it on the porch. Wait there for her no matter how much trouble it looks like she's having.


For the hives, rub benadryl cream. It won't work (maybe, doesn't for me) but it'll distract you....

I don't know where you live but my local tree service companies offer "free cat removal" from trees. they come with their cherry picker.

She will eventually come down. The food idea will move things along.
I've never seen a cat starve up in a tree...if that were the case we would see more kitty skeletons draped in the crotches of trees.

Seriously, I had this one stray kitty that I finally rehomed that would go and decide to climb the tallest, limbless sweetgum he could find. This cat would spend 2-3 days up in the tree, 60 feet up and crying it's head off. He would eventually come down and within a few weeks be up the tree again. He earned the name "Jack".
To my knowledge he still gets in trees and has never starved to death in one yet.
