My 15 week old duck fred is being treated for wry neck he is doing well. All four my ducks are molting currently. He has been molting on his tail and vent area for a couple weeks. He seems to be having a hard time preening these areas. Is there anything I can do to help, I think he is getting oil from the other ducks. His oil gland looks fine he just can't reach it. Lower back top of tail dingy looking, new pin feathers coming in. I see all of them pick at each other's tails once in a while.

Yes I can put him their little pool, the other ones just go in. He is the biggest duck so I think he has a harder time climbing in and out. Should I just try to rinse down his feathers, i know when I have touched those pin feathers before it kind of hurts him. I just don't know if I should try to get some of the sheath off the feathers?

I don’t think I’d actually mess with his feather shafts. I would help him in an out or make something blocks bricks a ramp something. To help getting in an out. I have two large rocks in the kiddy pool my young ones are using to help them in an out. Does the water just soak into his feathers? Maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea to let him get completely wet since he can’t preen. What are you doing for his wry neck? If he’s really dirty maybe just clean those areas with a wet wash cloth no soap.

I put vitamin e and selenium in vi d sol drops, I try to give a dropper every other day now. He only Bob's his head a little now and some balance issues, he leads the other ducks sometimes now, before would keep falling over and hold his neck down close to his body. Thanks for the info this is a long process.
