The portable coop is done; electric mesh fence up, and Hawkstopper net over all. We plan to move this around our yard as necessary. The net is a pain in the arse, and I'm not really sure how that's going to work to move it. My husband and I built the coop on top of a 4 by 8 trailer, and we can pull that around the yard with our garden tractor. We have been working on this for months! The small Rhode Island Red is BFF's with the Silver Laced orpington, and was the one that was so severely frostbitten and then develop gangrene in her foot. Those two hens have been living in my garage since January 15th. The two Easter Eggers I bought last week, and the other Easter Egger is quarantine in a small chicken tractor because she had mycoplasma. She is much better, but I don't know what color eggs she is going to lay yet, and did not want to consume any for 14 days since she just got off antibiotics. She has been also living in my garage since Palm Sunday.
Any ideas on how to make this net more user-friendly when I move it around? We have a terrible hawk problem here. Thanks!
