I have a 6 month old buff Orpington rooster (Peanut) that is free to a good home. I wound up with him after I got some chicks from Meyer hatchery, I ordered all girls but .. Well you know how that goes. He can be very sweet and used to follow me around like a puppy and sit in my lap but since he has reached maturity he has gotten a little aggressive and its too much for me. He'll eat out of my hand one minute then attack my leg the next.
He is good with my hens, keeps them safe while they free range, brings them food etc. He a good roo just not a good pet.
I think he needs a home with someone who can handle his behavior and/or with someone who can teach him who's boss.
I know I'm not making the best case for him but I wanted to be honest. He a beautiful roo I think he just needs a more experienced owner, this is my first time with chickens.
I'm in Lodi,Ohio and can meet anywhere within a couple hours to give him, sorry no shipping I just think it would be to stressful on him.
