I catch and release the Japanese beetles in the run for my flock. Had read that article and almost tried it. But those pheromone traps can bring in a neighborhood full of beetles onto your property and IMO better to catch those hatching close by and not increase your overall population.
But I do know that for the past few years the number of J. beetles we see is declining!
If you do decide to try this, do research the effect of placing one in your yard.
