Free Range in Ohio

I would be surprised to find out there is a State Law restricting free ranging. Quite possible some cities and towns don't allow it.

Some townships in Ohio restrict free ranging and some just require fenced yard so they don't go off your property. But, Ohio is full of many many rural areas that have no zoning and no restrictions at all. So your neighbor is a bit mistaken, but you may not be able to free range in your area if you have local ordinances. Keep in mind anything over 5 acres in Ohio is considered a farm according to state regulations and therefore not subject to some of the local or municipal ordinances. Where in Ohio are you located?
