Dachsunds were bred to go down burrows and root out badgers, you know. So guess what - they can dig some serious holes

I've had them in the past. Few fences are proof against them without some real thought.

I suggest you "grid" the outside of any chicken fence at ground level with welded wire or something like it. Just place it so it it extends a foot or two out from the bottom, parallel with the ground and wire it to the upright fence wire. If you really want to get busy, you can bury it.
But, staking it down so the grass can grow up through it should suffice. Run over it with the mower once the grass has grown through and the grid wire disappears. BUT, the first time your little wiener dog tries to dig in and hits the wire, it'll stop.

Unless, of course, you missed some other chink where it can get in .

When it comes to chicken killing, hawks aint nuttin' compares to the family dog.
