I got 4 new pullets last week and they were free range birds however because of my situation with predators I will not free range. My question is am I going to have problems getting these pullets to use the coop? Where they were before they didn't have a coop at all they just free ranged the farm. I have had to put them in the coop on the roosts every night since I brought them home. They do go in and out of the coop in the day time but don't stay long and are right back to the run.

How long will I have to continue to place them in the coop before they realize this is where they need to be?

IF you have an adequate sized coop, enough roost length that is easily accessed and good ventilation in there.

Lock them in the coop for a few days 24/7.....that will 'home' them to the coop.
..or you can just keep putting them in at night and after aweek or so they should get with the program.
