Free range??

I have an unused shed, that is in a fenced in section of my yard, I'm thinking this could be my coop and chicken yard. The she'd is approximately 10x 12. The yard is at least 30x20. Any thoughts ?

That's a large pen but not free range. How many birds were you thinking?
The building would house 30 but the pen won't.

I have 10 hens, a mixture of breeds that are only 3-4 weeks old

The pen also has a gate that opens up to our large back yard, I figured once they get used to their coop and I clip the wings I would let them have it all. Once they are big enough

It's good to have a fenced area around the coop and keep them in there so they can become accustomed to the surroundings before free ranging. Then they can find their way home.
