Have any of you raised any of the New Hampshire chickens that Freedom Ranger sells? If so:
1. Did you process any for meat and if so how did they preform?
2. If you kept any how did your hens preform as egg layers?
3. If you kept any roosters how was their temperament?
4. Did any hens go broody?

Hello! I have some New Hampshire hens, not a lot, but I can give you some information on purely what I’ve observed and gained from them.

The three I have are egg layers and have done exceptionally well with laying, for the first year their laying varied from an egg every other day to every day, each hen. Year two was every other day to every two days, and year three has declined a bit, about an egg every three days or less.

Of course the variables of eggs per week will vary per each hen.

None of my hens have gone broody whatsoever (though two have been mildly defensive while laying.)

I haven’t processed any or have had roosters, but hopefully someone else can give you information on that. :)

Here is a link to a very informational page about New Hampshire’s:

I hope this info helps! :D
