Hello,

I currently have only layers but am thinking about doing a run of meat birds this summer when this year's layer chicks are out of the brooder. I use electrified poultry netting and will probably build a Salatin-style pen for moving them (I'm on 2 acres of good pasture so I'll be able to move them frequently). I am interested in getting Freedom Rangers but none of the feed stores around here carry them and I am worried about not being able to pick them up from the post office immediately because of my job. Anyone in NC (Charlotte area) know of a local place to get them? Even if they are a few generations down from the hatchery that's ok. Or is there anyone who would want to do a group buy? Also if anyone knows their heat tolerance that would be good, as I don't want to put them outside in July and then have them heatstroke out due to the heat/humidity here (one reason I want Freedom Rangers instead of Cornish).

Tractor supply will have some red rangers (close to /if not the same as freedom rangers) during chick days. If you want the. Before tsc starts chick days, I believe Hoover hatchery is where they get their chicks.
