freedom rangers

ive read and heard how freedom rangers are supposed to be the best homegrown, all purpose bird. ive been told they're a australorp x buff orpington, but cant seem to find proof.
anyone know what the exact cross is? are they a true sex link? someone said chicks can be 3 different colors (not just one for male and one for female)?
