My 2 chickies are 4 weeks old, and have been without a heat lamp for the last week. Im in lower mi, where the temp outside ranges from 55 to 75 each day now. Is it okay for them to live outside now? I need the brooder for my new batch due this weekend…they will have two 2 month olds in the coop as well with them to keep em warm.

If you had 10 or 15 four week olds, I'd say "maybe." Just two? Myself, I wouldn't do it. I live in the Kawkawlin/Bay City area and it is supposed to be 45' tonight.

Also, have the 2 month olds gotten used to the four week olds? They might not cuddle... (just sayin').

Is there any way you can rig a lamp in the coop? I would think that even a 100 watt bulb on a timer would make a difference.

I wouldnt chance it. You can put them in the coop but i would hang their heat lamp. You can get another heat lamp, its good to have any extra one anyway.

Just my opinion.
