What is the best way of heating water in the winter in the coop? I have seen heated waterers but they are so expensive. I know someone has a good answer. John

Yep, simply build a square out of 2x6 or 2x8 lumber with a sheet metal top, large enough for your size waterer.

Drill a hole in one of the sides for a light socket, and thermal cube if you want it to turn on off and when the temps require.

Then a simple light bulb of the desired watt is all it will take to keep the water from freezing. Maybe forty is enough, if not just increase until it works for you.
