freezing yogurt

Will freezing yogurt kill the cultures in it?

I have often wondered the same . . .

last week I put yogurt in the freezer to see if it would thaw in a lunch box.
It did not. It is grainy looking instead of smooth. and won't mix.
I will use it in my banana bread,
I do freeze cheese and cream cheese cottage cheese and ricotta.. excellent results. Just not yogurt. I even freeze little water bottles with 2% milk in them. great results with that for my coffee at Church. Hate cream and powdered creamer.
Just no luck with yogurt.
