Can anyone speak to the temperament of the roosters of this breed? I just picked up 3 chicks yesterday - 2 Blue and one Black Copper Maran and the two blue are a bit larger than the black and so I think I may have two roosters and although I do need one rooster for my current flock, I can not have an aggressive one. So can anyone speak to their temperament?

My daughter hatched some French Marans & this blue one became the fav. Any guesses on gender? 3 weeks old. Small wattles can be seen if at the right angle.

I would say at 3 weeks that's a lot of comb for a pullet but I am new to the breed myself so it's just a guess. But I don't see any waddles on my pullet that is 11 weeks old if that helps.

Looks very boy to me...what's behavior like? Too young to really tell but that's a big comb.

Your blue marans are beautiful! I have some hatching eggs, blue and black from 4 different farms so waiting....
