My sweet hen Freya, is Always escaping. 🙄 .
She does it nearly every day and I find her in pretty much the same spot every time. No matter where I put her, she always finds a way out. I've put her in with my brother's secure duck pen, the large main flocks run, but she won't stay put anywhere. :barnie .

She is currently my little Einstein, the smartest most cunning hen in the entire flock.
She lives with my small flock, separate from the main flock. I've recently re-secured the whole fenceline down there and she stopped for a while. Her wings have been clipped, so she couldn't be flying out.
I just don't wanna see my baby get eaten by a forest critter. :(.

Is she unhappy? I'd turn her into a house chicken, but chickens living in the house is a major no.
(Someday 😏 .)

I understand why you are worried about her, especially since it would be harder for her to escape a predator with her wings clipped.

I can't make a guess on how she's getting out because I don't know what kind of set up you have for your birds, but I wish you well in keeping her alive and safe.

BTW, I have a house chicken, and I love her. But I wish she could have learned to live with the outside chickens.

I've had a few escape artists... Just found out my Penny, was secretly escaping, and getting back into her run before I noticed. That ended today. I discovered her trick.

Something that I don't know if most people think of, but it's an issue I've had. Birds going UNDER the fence. Some will literally dig their way out.
Some cases, it's a root or something keeping the fence from completely touching the ground, so I use tent stakes (preferred the yellow ones cause they're harder to come back up and stronger) to keep the fence down. Then I try burying the bottom of the fence, FROM THE OUTSIDE, where I needed the tent stakes. Has worked very well. ;)
Other cases, the fence was on flat land, framed with 2x4s. This was a smaller covered run, but nobody was escaping. They couldn't dig enough to get under the 2x4s. I had an Australorp who was escaping somewhere under a run and I couldn't figure out where. I put her in that run, and she didn't escape again.
Another thing I do to stop other birds from going under the fence is using things like railroad ties, logs, and/or boards to stop birds from going under. I currently have a fence that in one spot, the tent stakes aren't working at all to keep the fence down. On the OUTSIDE of the fence, I have a nice, old railroad tie at the bottom to stop birds from escaping. This works well too.

All that above helps stop chickens from going under fences. Wing clipping helps stop chickens from going over fences. The problem that I sometimes have a problem with is when a certain hen CLIMBS THE FENCE! :th
