Friend Buys me chicks!

The poultry club that I am a member of had their spring show this past weekend. As always, a member puts some chicks in a display for people to look at. As I came in I glanced at them and they had a sold sign on the box. As I was getting my chickens in their coops for the show my neighbor walks up and ask if I seen t he chicks. I said yes, and he said "They are yours". They were Americanas, I had mentioned to him i would like to have some of those at some point in our many conversations. Isn't that just the sweetest thing!!!!!

I wish we had something like that around here. The only other chicken nut I really know is my sister, and we butt heads on how to care for them continually.

My best gift ever was when I was a little kid. My great aunt (who is sadly no longer around) sent a little yellow peep home with my mom in a grocery bag for me!

I loved that chicken. I think it was the best gift I ever got from anyone. Then the cat got it...

Oh well it made me a lifelong chicken fancier and I still love cats! lol

My aunt used to always have a huge flock of chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. I think McMurray's musta had her on their VIP customer list! lol

My mother and I also raised chickens for several years. It is a special memory of her that always makes me smile whenever I see a chicken.

He is my chicken buddy, my husband does not share my love of animals, neither does his wife!! So, that is how it has been for many years.
