friendly, laying breeds

I'm thinking about getting some chickens and i want to get some that are friendly and lay a fair amount of eggs. Any sugestions?

Here is a chart of chicken breeds. Find the layers and look at their disposition. Most of the dual purpose breeds will also lay a lot of eggs and are generally friendly.

I have found Warrens and Black Rocks good layers and friendly birds.

Orpingtons are docile and lay a plentiful amount of eggs

Brahmas are sweeties too.

Red Stars. An egg a day, at least, all year round. Appealing and friendly. Golden Comets are popular for laying in this area, and they are friendly and funny.

Black australorp and light brahma - those are my best layers and sweetest, too.

In our book you can't beat a Buff Orpington, Large dual purpose birds (meat and eggs) ours lay a jumbo sized brown egg year round.
