I year ago when my daughter brought home our baby chicks from the local feed store we didn’t know what we were getting. We ended up with a hen and a rooster both Red Cochin frizzle; a black Cochin smooth hen, and two d’uccle mille fleur (I think that’s what they’re called). We just hatched a batch of 9 eggs. I didn’t know you can’t breed frizzle to frizzle. When can you tell if I have a frazzle?

I have a Yokohama/Black Cochin frizzle hen that bred with my AyamCemani rooster—hatched one egg she laid—a black mixed frizzle chick 🥰 EAF102AA-ECA4-4BA7-AB68-D27271A40B1F.jpeg 392DAD5C-74D8-4435-9D30-3783A8D15507.jpeg CF129EEE-86D9-43AF-839E-D05AA4A9B2E6.jpeg B398A3A2-34D9-43F9-A3A5-735E84F8133C.jpeg

Here is how they look today. The last picture is MIss Chip. She has partial paralysis in one of her feet so she is being raised inside the house. Working on rehabbing her and hoping she will be able to join the flock one day. We visit with the flock often but stay predominantly inside.
