frizzle help

I have a bantam frizzle hen from Ideal hatchery. Just her. I would like to breed her. Have been offered an OE roo and others. I need advice on what or who to breed her to. Does he have to have the friz gene to get frizzles? She was supposed to be red but I can see some black or blue in there for sure. Cowboy curtiss was nice but he the frizzles so I didnt' consider hathcing any of her eggs and I know he liked her alot. She's just getting her feathers back.
Can I just use any bantam?
I had some chicks from her or the other hen I had that I know were crossed w/ a standard Del roo. Cuz the chicks were white with the del markings. I sold the one that lived. Could I use my standard Del? What would be the result of that?

do not breed frizzle with frizzle....

First of all, what does she look like? You might want to get something with similar shape to keep the look going...

Frizzle is a dominant gene, breed it with normal feathered bird and you'l get 50-50 frizzle and normal from the offsprings.... try and find a soft feathered breed to breed with (this means excluding any game birds from the program) to give you a better curl.

She is cochin and I've had offers of others should I choose a cochin roo standard or bantam? I don't know what breeds are considered soft feathered. I would prefer a clean legged breed. I do know that my standard Del mated with her. Should I do that again? I also have a CM roo but Erik is just to big. I would really rather not get another roo.

I would put your frizzle cochin hen with a smooth cochin bantam roo if you want to keep the bantam size.

If you want to get larger size then breed her to a smooth cochin Roo.

Its funny when the Bantam Roos take a shine to the LF gals, but I think it would be best to find a Bantam Roo if you have a little girl.
Standard Cochins are pretty big. If you think your Del mated her and didnt hurt her then its probably ok, but I wouldnt set out to
intentionally have a Standard breed a Bantam. Maybe a nice Silkie for Sizzles (0: (except that you dont want another Roo)

Right now the only roo who could have mated her was her mate from the hatcery and he was frizzled. I do know that she sat on two of six eggs that were bantam and the chicks were both white. One got squashed and the other lived. That one had Delaware markings. I only had three roos. One CM would have nothing to do with Nick and his crew. Nick the Del is the only other roo and he is not bantam. So he had to be the father of the chick. Now I don't know for sure it was Frenchy's egg. I did have another bantam hen but she was not frizzled. She was one of the four frizzle chicks from the hatchery. 2 roos both frizzles and 2 hens one non and one frenchy.
She friendly and goes broody. So I kept her.
I can't breed her to the CM roo cuz he's very big. Nick is big too but not as rough. The CM is very young. Nick is at least 11/2years old. I got him grown so I don't know his age.

I would say as long as your breeding frizzle to smooth anything goes! It's all your preference, however you will have to find a roo her size or larger but able to mate with her. I bought a standard cochin roo in hopes that he would be able to mate with my banty frizz girls but he's enormous! He doesn't even attempt to mount them(they are not even as tall as his leg!!! He does try to mate with my little red banty girl(smooth but carries frizz genes) and she allows him to mount her but I am truly NOT convinced that anything is happening! Physically I just don't think it could happen b/c he'sjust unable to reach them. Anyway....my solution to all of this was just to buy a silkie roo and this way he will be their size and no one will get hurt and those sizzle babies are just irresistable!!!! Blessings, Keri
