Amy guesses for fun? Chicks are a week old barn yard mix from a friend. She's got a little of everything in her barn so there's no telling what these chickens are.

Both have 4 toes.
Are their feathers frizzled? Could they be silkie mixes? Or cochin?
I've never owned these breeds or any chicken that wasn't smooth so I'm at a loss.

The grey one - is this feather color called blue? It hatched from a green is blue egg. No leg feathering. Full size.

The lighter one- hatched from a small cream colored egg and has leg feathering.

I edited with a little more info.

That's what I'm thinking too but I'm very unfamiliar with frizzled chickens.

I'm also at loss for information concerning the feathering type. I hope you find what your looking for.

Thanks, I'm just curious to learn more.
The friend that I got the eggs from doesn't particularly care about what the breeds are so she's not much help lol.

The grey chick was an assisted hatch that I seriously thought was dead in the shell. I can't believe it survived. The smaller lighter one was by very first egg to hatch!
I'm pretty attached to them now.

I plan on updating this post with new pics as they grow just to gain any insight.

I know the grey one has the easter egger gene but I'm unsure about the lighter one.

Does it have feathered feet? It could be a Cochin mix.

Yes, the lighter/smaller one has feathered feet. The grey one does not.
