From BYC facebook.... cannibal chickens?

On BYC's facebook page, there is a long list of people's chickens' likes and dislikes. Someone mentioned feeding their chickens Chicken... another lady said it was unsafe and unsanitary... is it? My ducks love to eat left over chicken.... i haven't fed it to the chickens, what do you do?

A chicken will eat anything, cooked or not. Another chicken is near the top of the list. An injured left in the coop will be killed and eaten by the others. Have never known it to be unsafe or unhealthy, just a fact of life. Best way to clean the meat off the carcass of your Thanksgiving turkey is to throw
it in with your chickens.
