Hi, Thanks for responding! We live about 30kms north of Perth on just over 3 acres and yes, I am enjoying the cooler days before the stinking hot summer hits! I had a look at your photos - your 'feathered family' are glorious. Your roosters are especially beautiful! We've had chooks for around 3 years, got them from my uncle, think they were ex battery hens and were quite old, but I managed to tame them quite a bit and enjoyed their various personalities very much! They have slowly died and unfortunately, a fox managed to climb over my 8foot fence and kill the remaining five of them - devastating! So we spent last week totalling enclosing the top of my 30 square metre chook yard and I now have 12 pullets ranging from 10weeks to 14 weeks, and a beautiful white leghorn rooster. Haven't had them this young before, but am really enjoying them. I work from home, so I pop down every hour or so to check on them. Don't want to let them free-range just yet.
Anyway, am pleased to have found someone else on this site from Perth - seems to be mainly American chook-lovers!
