We first got our chickens last fall, although I had some experience with both meat chickens and layers when I was a teen.
We currently have 24 chickens.
We have 12 Cuckoo Marans, 2 Black Copper Marans and 10 Brown Layers. We hope to get more Black Copper and maybe a few Cuckoos to add to our flock this spring/summer, as well as some Indian Runner Ducks. We already have some Muscovies, which we love. We would like to add some more color to them, but we will see how things go. We want to let them loose, but considering that we just saw a great horned owl about a week ago and he was eyeing them all...eek!
