Help!! I found one of my chickens frozen to the ground but alive! I brought her in and out her in the bathroom where it's really warm. This is after I held her in a blankie for awhile. I made her some hot rice which she ate and loves. She just drank some water!!!. She's not really standing just is sitting up looks like she's very sleepy. Now, what should I do? She seems to be breathing a little heavy but I'm not sure if she normally breaths that way. I really havnt paid that much attention. I am sooo worried. Should i leave her in bathroom for the night? I just worry that she's gonna get over heated. Im just worried cause she wont walk just sits in one spot.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Yes keep her in overnight. If she gets runny poop then she is to hot I would also wait at least 24 hours before forcing water down just have water in there with her and mix a little Gatorade or Powerade in with water it will encourage drinking and has electrolytes which will help her get back on her feet and feeling better

Also try sprinkling in cinnamon it helps circulate blood flow. Good luck!

You should honestly have her in the least warm room in your home so she can warm up slowly. Sounds crazy but too hot too quickly is very bad.:)

Yes I she seemed to be breathing heavy so I moved her in a cooler room. What worries me now is she won't stand up and when she tries she topples over. I'm so worried!!!! I love chickens so much!! Please tell me she'll be ok!

Oh no! Your poor chicken. What part of her body was frozen to the ground. Just her feet? Do you have an idea how long she was there?
It was her wing that was frozen! I'm thinking 2 days and nights!!!! It's been in the teens here!!! I feel so bad I couldn't find her! I feel like an awful mama
