Could anyone please tell me what to put on my chickens combs? Its -2 here in UK and i noticed a couple of the bigger hens had dry combs. What do you reccomend? Thanks.x

i've seen it on here a lot that people put vasaline "petroleum jelly" on their chicken's combs and such to prevent frostbite. Also check the humidity in the coop. High Humidity + very cold temps equals frostbite! I don't know that I'd be able to do that with my roosters without loosing an eye though! Good luck.

Two of my chickens recently got frostbite on their combs. I've been advised to use petroleum jelly or bag balm to protect the combs. Also to make sure the coop is well-ventillated and with no drafts directly where they roost.
