Has anyone every tried using an electric frying pan as an incubator? I read about this method in one of the first few Backyard Poultry magazine's. Something happened to the hen that was sitting, and they used a electric frying pan to incubate/hatch the babies, very interesting. I've read here about some pretty interesting incubating styles/methods, so thought someone may have tried this, Id like to know the result's if so.

We hatched duck eggs in one once. Someone gave my mother an electric skillet, and she didn't like it. So we used it to hatch duck eggs. It worked, but I wouldn't do it again.

An old farmer friend of my father's offered to send me home with fertilized eggs this weekend. He said he uses a frying pan all the time and that I could do the same. I don't have room (for barnyard mutt chickens) so I declined the offer. I just found this old thread because I had to search to know if he was pulling my city girl leg or not.
