Full Coop Clean Out

I have a 4x8 coop. I scoop the poop every day, but have never emptied all the bedding out yet, and it'll be a year in May. This summer, I'll probably take it all out, scrape off any poop I find, and put in new pine shavings and/or hemp.

The old bedding will go in the run to compost until next spring, and then it'll go on the garden.

My DLM would never work if I did not add water, my coop is VERY well ventilated with dirt floors. I wet it down about 4 to 6 times a year

This is one of the reasons I said "almost" -- since Deep Litter requires moisture to keep it composting. :)

That's different than a wet cleaning on a coop with a floor.

Unless you plan on replacing the Dyson, I’d stick to the shop vac! We’re on our second Dyson (the pet hair one) and I’d kill my husband if he took it outside!
Aside from being prone to clogging, I think it's pretty tough. But it turns out that a clean out is less than I thought.
