So I have 3 silkie hens. One is especially tiny. I also have full size hens. With this last batch of chicks, one ended up being a rooster. Not bad considering they only guarantee 90/10 of getting pullets. So... this rooster is a barred rock. Hes about 3 months old and already quite a bit bigger than my silkies. My silkies are mature and apparently so is he. He is not crowing yet, but hes doing other 'rooster' things. One hen tolerates him, one doesnt like him and the other will attack him. He hasnt shown any aggression towards me or othe people, yet. He is a little rough with the girls, but I think just becuase hes young. All that to ask, Is he going to just be too big for my silkies? I didnt want a rooster. Will he leave them alone once the other girls mature?? He wont touch my easter eggers though, and they are mature They are bigger than him.

I would not keep him with silkie hens. He could hurt or even end up killing them. He will breed what is easy which is the silkies.
Thank you. That's what I was thinking as well. He is the size of a silkie rooster right now, so I wasnt overly concerned for the time being. But he is definitely going to be much bigger.

He's just two months old, just a baby. Things will change tremendously when he grows and matures. Many different things might happen or could happen, some good and some bad.

I didnt want a rooster.
To me this is the key. Get rid of him and you do not have to worry about it. To me it is a simple solution.
