Yep you read it right.

My long haired indoor kitty, managed to bat down a string of fly tape. Not only that, but my beautiful 3 yr old was the one who let the poor cat outside. I found him chasing himself in circles trying to get the sticky tape off of him... followed by hay and grass clippings stuck to his fur in the mess.

So what say you, any ideas on how to wash this nasty stuff off?

Some sort of oil might loosen the glue.

Since spring is here, I'd shave the kitty.

I love cats, but that seems the easiest solution.

There is a detangler made by Vetrolin for horses that will take it right out. I would bathe the cat well with Dawn dish soap afterwards though to be sure to get the detangler out so they don't lick it out. I used this on two of my mares after they got fly glue wrapped up in their manes a few summers ago.

Peanut butter worked well for me when I decided to catch a falling fly trap. Then touch my glasses.

I'd use a combination of p-nut butter and a pair of scissors to trim. And good luck.

corn or veg oil will take it out without hurting kitty, then dawn dishsoap and a good bath in the sink. try and not let kitty lick the oil or it will give him.her the scooters.

Corn oil. peanut butter or my favorite mayonaise. Try removing fly tape off a parrot....ohhh my. Then wash with Dawn.
