Sorry clip all the sticky hair off of the kitty. I'm trying to not laugh either, but I'll tell you a quick story about our blind indoor cat.
She stuck her tail into a scented candle that was in a candle warmer. I tried everything to get the wax off, finally just shaved the end of her tail. She looked funny but it got the wax out. On the good side she did "freshen" every room she entered.

Have you called the fly trap company or looked at thier website .. most of them have tips for removing .. Thats what I had to do when my outdoor cat brought home a mouse glue trap on the bottom of her foot .. I think they said to use acetone ..

I would shave her. Alot less tramatic then being washed who knows how many times to get it off.
