Trying to maximize use and make this more functional.

Chickens and Ducks.

Show me ideas and what you do to have a functional area for brooders and nesters.

We are frugal so show me frugal ideas where you buy little and reuse what you can find.

In the third picture, it looks like you have the barrier from a dog crate. I use a dog crate as a brooder, and as a broody breaker. (Among other uses.)

You can cover the top so that it doesn't subtract from your horizontal floor space in your coop/run. Then other birds can get up there, and the cover will keep them from pooping on the hen and chicks below.

PLEASE be sure that your heat lamp is secured. They have caused many a coop fire. Do not rely on just the clamp

I will definitely secure the lamp!

Chickens and Ducks.
How many of each?
How big is the coop...and do you have a run too?
What kind of ventilation?

Would help to know....
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

4 Buff Orpington Ducklings
4 Buff Orpington chicks
10 Lavender Orpington chick
1 male/female Buff Orpington adult ducks

So the ventilation would be through that door and we were planning on putting in a few vents that we repurposed from the house but haven't gotten to it.

We are in Oklahoma #7 planting zone

Oh I think it's 10*10
The run is like 1000 SQ ft plus we let them in the yard sometimes
