Funny auction story

Last spring I was at a chicken auction with my cousin and I guess he knew the couple behind us. Well the lady was bidding on sexed cockerel chicks that were less than a week old and she got like 30 which confused me. She then said that she was getting them for her church to give to the kids that win contests, which I would usually be against this but one out of two people you meet in my area own chickens. Anyways some folks might have thought they won some extra egg layers but got roosters instead.

And I thought people who gave out goldfish at fairs were weird. I would be ecstatic to play a game and win a chicken, however.
