I have 2 broodys right now. One is sitting on some fertile BCM eggs I got got from a BYC member near me. The second girl is sitting on nothing.
She's stuburn.
So....I also have a White Ameraucana who lays blue eggs. The only one laying blue. I get an egg every other day or so from her. And the last 2 days she's been in the nesting box (for hours) and I haven't gotten an egg from her. And I'm thinking....WTH??? Why no egg? She makes a beautiful, TIGHT nest. Really round and build great. But no egg. So...I go in the coop this morning and I take the broody with NO eggs out of her nest and put her on the floor by the water and food. HERE...what do I find???? One pretty blue egg. She STOLE the White Ameraucana's egg and put it in HER box.
I laughed so hard. Man. Talk about wanting babies. She's that desperate.

UPDATE! I won the eggs I was bidding on in the auctions. Now she will have eggs of her own to sit on, instead of stealing other's unfertile eggs!
They are White Orpington eggs.
