We hatched our own chicks 2 springs ago. 3 of the 8 hatched. We must have done something wrong, because one of our chickens Honey, would run around like a chicken with her head cut off! (Pun intended). She would see something that set her off and she would run around the house and yard and run into walls and scream! For NO reason at all Lol!!!

I have several funny chicken stories, but this one was the most recent. I got some new chicks on Saturday, two Easter Eggers and two buff Cochin bantams, and slipped them under a broody hen to raise. Everything went well and she accepted the chicks.
On Monday, I went down to the coop as usual to check in on all the chicks, and I couldn't find one of the bantams. I was looking all around for her, terrified that she had been killed by one of the other chickens. Suddenly, I notice some yellow under the mama hen's neck feathers. I looked more closely, and there was the missing chick! Buried in the mother's neck feathers. The chick pocked her head out, pecked at the mom's feathers, and then disappeared again. It was really cute!
