when we are in the chickens get the whole run of the garden which is every night, they have several dust baths in the garden and in their pen which are used by all three girls every day. However I seem to have one kinky chicken who before bed every night has a bath in the washing bowl full of oyster grit. It's only hettie that does this, Does anyone else have a hen with a "Strange" routine

I'm not sure if this is a strange routine or not, but I have noticed that each night, all my chickens like to go in to roost in the same order and in the same places. When I count them I know where to look for each bird, and when they aren't there it always surprises me. My rooster gets the ladder, one of my white hens gets on top of the fan (or sometimes on the door), my red hens all look alike so it is hard to tell, but two or three usually perch down with the silkies. During hot weather more of them perch up higher.

Chickens are individuals, and that is what makes them so fun!
