I was raised around chickens, but I've never had a duck. Now that I'm newly ducked and loving it, I can't help but grin at these little things that they do that seem so unique to them.
For example, my little Wobbuffet will always - ALWAYS - back up exactly three steps before taking a poop. No exceptions. Every bird I've seen just drops it wherever but nope, he has to backpedal!
Another thing is how he lets me know he's hungry by pecking one specific mole on my body. He pecks all my moles and freckles, but it seems that whenever he needs to be "reminded" where his food bowl is, he'll haul butt over to this one mole on my foot and peck the dickens out of it!
It's just little things like this. I knew ducks had personality, that's why I wanted them, but I never expected such a rich, quirky uniqueness to them. I am so, so in love!
