. . . and how quickly.
A week ago today, there had been 1 snow shoveling/driving/cussing experience so far in 'o8. Actually, I waited the first snow out and it melted before I got out there but the 2nd one - there was no choice. Temperatures had been sub-zero but I'd gotten off easy to that point.
Then it snowed again - with a capital "SNOW!"
I had more snow in my yard (3 feet plus) than at anytime last Winter from one 48 hour storm! Moved it around, chained up the pickup, drove to the pharmacy, came home.
It never quite stopped snowing the last few days but only a skiff at a time. Last night, it snowed again.
I go out and breathe the nice warm air; I'm thinking that maybe it has gotten up close to 20°F. Shovel, shovel, shovel - getting tired but this is really light stuff. My biggest problem is trying to decide where to put it.
Come back in the house and report 8 inches added to the 3 feet and learn that it is nowhere close to 20°F. In fact it is 8°F and the temperature drops to 6°F before I can cool down in the Lazy-Boy.
Last year was the 2nd "snowiest" Winter on record here. Wonder what more we will need to get used to this time around . . .
